4621 John Graf Milwaukee, Wis. (NBBGCO)

This minty antique soda bottle features a mug-base (8-sided arches upward). The embossing reads, "JOHN GRAF MILWAUKEE WIS." on the front and, "THE BEST WHAT GIVES TRADE MARK THIS BOTTLE NOT TO BE SOLD" on the reverse. The glass company is NBBGCO (front hub shown but I have it reverse hub as well). You have to love the German to English mis-translation used as a trade mark "THE BEST WHAT GIVES". This bottle is fairly common and there are many variants. John Graf must have been one of the most prolific bottlers in Wisconsin history as evidenced both by the quantity of bottles that turn up and the variety! The trademark slogan continued to be used for many years.
