Inscription is “SANDER BROS FOND DU LAC WIS.” In 1919, Prohibition made things pretty rocky for sander Brothers Brewery. The Wisconsin State Senate passed a measure to hopefully legalize beer. But it didn’t pass in the assembly. Sander Brothers Brewing, like others in Fond Du Lac, stopped brewing on May 1. It sold off its beer inventory. The firm considered producing near-beer after prohibition took effect, but to no avail. America went dry!
