Inscription reads: “EXCELSIOR SPRUCE BEER CO CHAPMANS SPRUCE BEER FUND DU LAC WIS.” This blob top brown bottle is a late lager shape. Mold type is a two leaf mold. Excelsior Spruce Beer was brewed in Fond Du Lac. They tried and failed, tried and failed and, finally, tried and failed. From 1907-08, from 1908-14 and from 1914-21! It was a lot of trying!
