E. Klinkert's Export Lager, Racine, Wisconsin

Klinkert, met the competition of the larger Milwaukee breweries by purchasing taverns in Racine. He leased the taverns to persons who would sell only his brews. The company operated until January of 1920 when prohibition caused the shutdown. For a short time during prohibition, Klinkert manufactured "near beer." But soon the business closed.
