J. Walter & Co., Eau Claire, Wisconsin

This beautiful, quart-size bottle is embossed-"J. Walter & Co., Eau Claire, WIS." in the slug plate. It has a Baltimore loop seal blob top. Glass maker was S.B.& G. Co. Its possible bottling date is 1890-94, shortly after the brewery opened. The Walter family was extremely progressive and would have been one of America’s premiere brewing families had they had better luck.
