Inscription reads, “THE JOHN GUND BREWING CO LACROSSE WIS.” The John Gund Brewing Company operated from 1854-1920 and shut down due to prohibition. It was founded by John Gund, an immigrant from Germany. The brewery actually started in his log cabin!
