John Kurth and Co Columbus WI

This clear blob-top bottle is labelled “JOHN H. KURTH & CO. COLUMBUS, WIS.” His father Henry Kurth opened the Henry Kurth Brewery in 1859. In 1863, his son opened the John H. Kurth Brewery and later changed to the John H. Kurth & Company Brewery from 1886-1904. This bottle is from that period. The Kurth family continued in the brewing industry under several names until closing in 1949.
