Joseph Schlitz (Miniature), Milwaukee, Wisconsin

A miniature, amber, blob top beer bottle embossed, "J.S. Schlitz, Milwaukee" on the base of the bottle. Joseph Schlitz came to America in 1850. In 1856, he became manager of the Krug Brewery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Two years later, he married Krug's widow and changed the company name to the Joseph Schlitz Brewing Company. The Joseph Schlitz Brewing Company was a Milwaukee fixture from 1874 until 1981, providing an awful lot of gusto for an awful lot of people! By the way, they became the Joseph Schlitz BEVERAGE Company during the 13 years of Prohibition!
