L. Musil & Co., Racine, Wisconsin
"Belle City Whiskey Brand, L. Musil & Co., Racine, Wis." c. late 1800's-1910's. With out knowledge on the company I can't put an accurate date on the bottle. Sometimes these hand finished bottles were reused until the late teens. Some people would gather the bottles from the dumps and resell the bottles in bulk to another company to make a little money for themselves. The present company would reuse these bottles for their own contents. Some people would use any kind of bottle for their contents. In fact it is not uncommon to see a reused whiskey bottle with a bluing, cure, or wine label. This was frowned upon in the early days, but people bent the rules many times over. The people that would scavenge these bottles and resell them to another company were called, "Bottle Sheenies"
