Milwaukee - Linden Apiary A. Diehnelt

This crock is stamped on the front "FROM THE LINDEN APIARY PURE HONEY A. DIEHNELT, MILWAUKEE - WIS." in an oval. This is an earlier version when August ran the business. When he died, the stamp was changed to W. for William.

Watch out because Linden Apiary crocks were reproduced in the late 1970's by "Honey Acres", a retail business in Menomonee Falls Wisconsin. They sold them as a novelty in their retail store in massive quantities and many are sold as old. The reproduction is about two quarts, much smaller than the originals. The glaze is also rather obviously new, and are not marked Red Wing. They are also not marked with the initial A.
