New Ulm - Original Case of 12 bottles - Wow!

This is an incredible original wooden case with 12 signed J. Stoeckert quart sized bottles some of which have their original cork ties. The case is stenciled "J. STOECKERT'S LEMON BEER WORKS NEW ULM, MINN." Cases this early (1860's or 1870's) are extremely rare but to find them with the original bottles is incredible. It is interesting from a couple of perspectives. First, it is not known when Mr. Stoeckert operated his soda bottling company. Nothing else has been found about the Lemon Beer Works so far. It is also interesting because Stoeckert made the bottles. I am not aware of any other potter who also bottled. These are very different businesses. There are also very few bottles marked with the potter's name. Typically the name on bottles are the bottler because bottles had a deposit and were to be returned for refilling.
