Pewaukee - Oakton Springs

This jug is from the Oakton Spring Water company based in downtown Pewaukee. The actual springs were and on the south side of Pewaukee Lake at the resort. This jug dates from around 1873 to 1878. The advertising brochure says that the water is available in casks, bottles (pint and quart) and jugs (one two and three gallon). This one is a two gallon from Spring A but there was also a Spring B, so presumably bottles and jugs were made for both springs and in all sizes so there could be 6 different jugs and 4 different bottles. So far I am aware of only a few jugs and one bottle, but there are probably many more out there waiting to be discovered. There is also a picture of the bottle on this site.
