Thorp Bottling Works (clear!!), Thorp, Wisconsin

Here is a tremendous hand finished, clear, Thorp Bottling Works, Thorp, WIS. half pint crown top soda bottle. It has the capacity, "Contents, 8 Fluid, OZ." embossed in the center of the slug plate. This is one of the few hand finished soda bottles that has the capacity embossed on it, and may be one of the few that dates before c.1914. 1914 was the year when it became standard to emboss the contents on soda bottles, but I'm guessing that this bottle dates to the 1905-1913 period. The bottle has the glass maker, I.G.Co. 344 embossed on the heel. The bottle is tougher in clear color.
