Val Blatz Brewing Co., Milwaukee, Wisconsin

This clear blob top bottle has this inscription, “VAL. BLATZ BREWING CO. MILWAUKEE WIS.” The company must have had financial trouble (or management turmoil) right from the start. It has many starts and stops. 1851-52, 1889-90, 1890-1911 and finally 1911-20 when Prohibition finally put the brewery under. After liquor was legalized, the company opened again until 1959 when it was sold to Pabst.
