Embossing on this brown blob top bottle reads, ”VAL BLATZ BREWING CO KANSAS CITY MO.” 1851, having by prudence and economy saved his earnings, five hundred dollars, he made a small start. Blatz was the first to manufacture "Milwaukee Beer.” His business prospered to enormous proportions. In 1861, the sales were eight thousand barrels; in 1871 thirty-four thousand and in 1875 to sixty-five thousand barrels.
