Whitewater crock - 5 gallon

Decorated five gallon earthenware crock from one of the potters in Whitewater, Wisconsin. This is not a good photo of this piece so it's hard to make out the size designation, but it was advertised as a five gallon size. Few large crocks survived because they are so brittle. It is not signed. The decoration is very elaborate for a Whitewater pot. It sold in the 1996 Jeff Skou auction, lot 258.
